Free Tree

Won’t you join me,
For a run to the tree?
I have trained all season long,
But do not get me wrong.
I do not wish for your demise,
Rather my own truth to be wise.
That against you I could accomplish,
My one true wish.
To be the first to see,
Me, not you, at the cherry tree.
Please do not cut it down,
Like Washington.
Why not give it a hug?
And help me save it from the next thug.
Won’t you join me,
In running a peace effort to save this tree?
