I am From…

I am from METCO, a city girl in a suburb world.
I am from the AA Transportation bus that brings me to Lexington every day.
I am from rice and beans, Wendy’s, and big white ice cream trucks.
I am from photo albums and videotapes.
I am from a huge family tree that keeps on growing day by day.
I am from Puerto Rico, where the music never dies.
I am from Dominican Republic, where “La Bandera” is the most popular food.
I am from salsa, bachata, and merenge.
I am from “Como pasate tu dia?” and “I told you so.”
I am from love.
