Dreams of Harvest, But Still Planting

Ominous clouds engulf the atmosphere
Seeds of glory sown on the field of trial
My heartbeat gallops, time for race is near
On the strenuous quest against the mile

Hundreds of hours and many a lap
Went into this deserved time of unrest
Can’t fail now, for I hear my teammates’ clap
A decade of planting, ripe for harvest

Ready for the Olympic final heat
Fifteen hundred meters from start to end
Confidence high, I do not think defeat
Gun sounds, field dissolves, I can’t comprehend

Alarm clock wakes me from this blissful spell
If harvest time comes, only time will tell
