Melissa Cooper GermsLike needles through Jell-O they infiltrate and harm, like elite soldiers behind enemy lines they work with precision and order. Tiny and quiet they obliterate and annihilate as termites do from the inside out, civilly with a steady patience. They destroy in a majestic and regal manner, their destruction barbaric and torturous. The balance of nature justifies their destruction as parasites to a host. Feel them swarming and multiplying, permeating and suffocating each pore. Teeming on my hands and seeping under my finger nails, into my blood, into my life.
