Adored Cuisine

When I arrive home from a school day and then track,
I watch her remove spices from the shiny, silver, rack.

As she proceeds to prepare a dinner so divine,
I just cannot wait for the portion that is mine,

Roasted chicken with rosemary and thyme,
Tacos with cilantro with a squirt of lime.

As I sit by the table waiting for food,
I slowly notice the elevation of my mood.

I can see that the pasta has started to boil.
Leftovers will soon be wrapped in tin foil.

My stomach is full and I sit quite content.
I thoroughly enjoy the time we have spent.
