Eric Beard The SurroundingThe boy knows he has changed And he has adapted to what once Seemed quite bizarre. The boy he always wanted to be Is the man of faultlessness. What is the purpose of life, If there are no mistakes? Mistakes ruin the perfectionist, Whereas the determined thrive from blunders. The boy who ignores what he is supposed to be, Grows stronger if he has the drive and ambition To run from the book, and search for himself. What does a man really want out of his life? The man forgets his problems, Forgets his worries that men are selected. Ignoring his thoughts that only the strong survive. All men are strong if they have confidence, Why should the boy care because he differs from the man in the picture? The man realizes his craving for enjoyment, thrill and exuberance. Life turns into a search for fun, The normality in life is far from ideal. The memories of childhood seem so foreign, A man learns that life in perspective can make everything positive. Walk away, walk away from the questioning, Forget about the facts you do not know. There is no true guide to life, And there never will be. Everyone’s path is unique; there are so many different ways to succeed.
