Samuel Pollock

A Summer Day

Never had I seen the sun so bright
Burning through my shades so light

No grass between my toes so green
Something that I’ve hardly seen

No water had I seen so blue
Shimmering so clean and true

Sitting under the summer sun
Waiting for lemonade to come

So tired in the summer heat
Chilling, putting up my feet

Waiting for these summer days
To quietly slip and fade away
