Forever Lost

You look for it, but can’t find it.
You can not remember what it is you need to find.
            It is missing.

Everywhere you search you find yourself empty-handed,
You have looked for this before.
      Where is it?

Stop, think before you look,
   Ask where it may be.
        You will find it.

This is frustrating,
 You had it before,
       Whatever is was.

Everything is still and quiet.
The sweet bird’s song pours through the window,
           Helping you relax, soothing you.

Remind yourself, where did you put it?
    You spent hours in it,
Played in it, talked in it.

Do not give up,
     What could it be?
                        Where could it be?

Aggravation fills you,
You can not find it, it is gone.
    Lost.

You find your search to be in vain.
You can never find it, never have it back.
      It is gone.

                                        YESTERDAY
